As soon as I stepped onto the Adventures in Missions base, I felt at home. Then in just the first couple of days, there was so much confirmation that preparing for (and going on) the World Race is exactly where I am supposed to be. I wish I could adequately portray our week and the impact it had on me, but no matter how many times I try writing this, it never seems to do it justice.
We spent the week sleeping in our tents embracing the rain and cold bucket showers. We ate an array of food-including crickets. We listened to Adventures staff during sessions, sang and worshipped together, and participated in team building activities. In just one week a community was built that brings me overwhelming joy.
Our squad is composed of 44 members. It was incredible to hear everyone’s story on how they became a part of the H Squad family, and there is no denying that God has woven our squad together. I firmly believe God is going to use this squad for amazing things.
Later in the week we were broken into our teams and… I LOVE MY TEAM! I’m excited to see how the Lord challenges and grows us together. It’s an honor to get to serve alongside them.
I know I haven’t given any stories or specifics of what happened at training camp, but I felt the need to begin with expressing the joy I feel and have for H Squad. I literally become giddy when thinking about this group of young adults on fire for the Lord. It’s my hope to write about a couple of different camp experiences/stories in the coming weeks. However, if you would like to hear a detailed account, please reach out! I would love to tell you more of what I learned, how God spoke to me, and all the funny stories in between!
OH MY GOSH that team photo is the cutest!! overjoyed hearing about your heart for this squad and for what God is about to do. so happy to be along for the ride. praying for you, gal!
Rachel!! Love this a whole lot. I also can’t wait to see how the Lord challenges and grows us together! So excited to go on this journey with you!
