Last Sunday we arrived in Guatemala and for the next two months, my team and I are living in San Antonio Aguas Calientes working with Worship Room. We arrived at our placement on Wednesday, but our two days of ministry with Jeofrey have been absolutely incredible. I wish I was better at putting into words what we’ve experienced and just how much I love being here.

We have gotten to meet with two different families, attend a Worship Room night, paint a school and play soccer with some of the local children. The people are so kind, and Guatemala itself is so beautiful!

My team and I are living with a host family which has been a lot of fun. They have provided us with two rooms with beds, two bathrooms and a kitchen. They’ve even been gracious enough to let us have some of their veggies! The other day they gave us two of the largest avocados I’ve ever seen. They also have two parrots who love to shout Hola! And Bueno! throughout the day as well as mimic laughing and screaming. They make me laugh everyday.

It’s hard to believe that today only marks a week of being in Guatemala. We’ve met so many people and have been so welcomed the past few days. Both our ministry host and our hosts who we’re living with have been fantastic; I can’t wait to see what the next couple weeks bring!
